Dow Wolff Cellulosics Selects ChemPoint.com as Distributor for Polyox in Europe

BELLEVUE, Washington & BOMLITZ, Germany, September 24, 2008 -- As part of its established marketing relationship with ChemPoint.com, Dow Wolff Cellulosics, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”), has named ChemPoint as their distributor for POLYOX™ Water- Soluble Resins into selected applications in Europe starting September 22, 2008. Under the terms of the agreement, ChemPoint.com will provide marketing, sales, customer service and order fulfillment for European customers.

Dow chose to work with ChemPoint to quickly implement an enhanced customer service strategy which they anticipate will lead to a good understanding of the industries and growth drivers that affect their existing customer base. ChemPoint’s excellent marketing and sales model offers consistent customer contact with accounts over a large, geographically-diverse customer base.

“This change is being made to more effectively service the smaller volume POLYOX Water-Soluble Resin accounts and accelerate our growth strategy,” says Gilles Recoules, Sales Director Dow Wolff Cellulosics for Europe. “We are confident that Chempoint’s experience will help support our customers’ product development goals.”

Versatile POLYOX resins deliver excellent binding, thickening, lubricity, water retention, and film formation performance for pharmaceuticals, personal care, cleaning products, mining, building materials, paper, and many more specialty applications. POLYOX resins are nonionic, high molecular weight water-soluble poly (ethylene oxide) polymers. The high molecular weights enhance properties such as sensory appeal, wet-tack, film formation, flocculation, lubricity, spatter and misting.

"ChemPoint is able to offer industry leaders, like Dow, a good understanding of how and why certain customer segments are buying in today’s evolving marketplace in an efficient and cost effective manner", said Chad Steigers, ChemPoint’s Managing Director. "We will execute Dow’s marketing and sales strategies within our space and bring a more proactive approach to meeting customers’ needs in a micro-market that Dow felt was underserved."
